MANAGING DIRECTOR/CEO
Macauley Atasie (Mack) started his career as an Assistant Manager at Nigerian Breweries Plc. and has since gained valuable experience in the Financial Services, Payments, Brewing, Manufacturing, Public Sector, SME and Aviation Industries.

From Nigerian Breweries Plc., he joined Accenture (then called Andersen Consulting) where he worked for over a decade rising to become the Head of Ventures/Payment Systems and Senior Manager, Strategy; where he successfully led several industry-defining initiatives including the conceptualization and setup of Nigeria’s pioneer payments switch (InterSwitch) and the pioneer mobile payments platform (Etranzact)

Mack was the pioneer CEO of HEIRS Alliance Limited, which was then a holding company for several banks and other companies with assets under management of over $1 Billion. HEIRS Alliance has since been succeeded by HEIRS Holdings Limited.

He is also currently working with Anambra State as a key member of the State’s Economic Team and functioning as the Governor’s Adviser on Economic and Strategic matters. Mack has also been very supportive in his home state (Abia) in driving economic development initiatives, where he leads the states economic advancement team.

He is the pioneer President of E-Payment Providers Association of Nigeria (EPPAN) and sits on the boards of NEXTZON, Trend TV Ltd, FINCONNEKT, Sattrak and Avon HMO, just to mention a few. Mack also has personal investments in a few new age businesses.

After successfully earning a BSc. in Microbiology and an MSc from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences – University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Mack also trained internationally at Stanford University, USA, Cranfield University, UK and Wits University, South Africa. Macauley has over the years delivered several highly visionary papers within and outside the country on crucial topical issues in the payments, financial services and strategy sectors.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (FINANCIAL SERVICES ADVISORY)
Segun Olukoya areas of expertise include Corporate and Competitive Strategy Development, Corporate Governance and Organisational Restructuring.

He is responsible for assisting local, international and regulatory institutions articulate business strategies and implement transformational initiatives. Segun is also a key member of Nextzon’s African regional expansion team, assisting several Nigerian banks and insurance companies acquire and set-up business interests across Africa.

Prior to Nextzon, he was pioneer Head of Group Integration in the HEIRS Alliance Group, a holding company with interests in several sectors of the Nigerian economy.

He started out his professional career in the Corporate Finance Team at Guaranty Trust Bank PLC, then proceeded to Accenture. At Accenture, he worked in the Financial Services Market unit on projects for both local and international financial services institutions in the area of business strategy and process re-engineering.

Segun has a B.Sc. degree in Economics from the University of Lagos and has attended professional and executive education programmes at the prestigious London Business School, amongst other notable institutions.

SNR. VICE-PRESIDENT (HEAD, GOVERNMENT & NON-FINANCIAL SERVICES)
An accomplished strategy consultant with multicultural environments experience in Nigeria, Germany and France who has played a significant role in the implementation of Banking reforms in Nigeria.

Victor, has led total enterprise transformation projects and the building of new business models for over 7 players 3 of which have gone on to achieve phenomenal success as a result of consulting efforts.

As a key player in the creation of the e-payment industry in Nigeria, Dr. Victor led the introduction of the online EFT-POS system into Nigeria and built the largest EFT-POS merchant acquisition network for card payments. He has applied technology to solve problems in Agriculture, Land Documentation & Administration, as well as Retail Revenue Collection. Victor is a lead player in the application of online technology for SME development in Nigeria, having built the fastest data collection system in the history of Nigeria for an SME online directory.

Victor is a deeply engaging & passionate speaker/trainer in Management, Human Resource Management, Leadership, Strategy, Economics and Social development topics.

He has a Doctorate degree in Economics from the University of Kiel, Germany and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from University of Ibadan. He is mentor and consultant to Fate Foundation and teaches Economic Empowerment.

HEAD, FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION
Uche Okangba has over 11 years working experience spanning Accounting, Auditing, Risk Management, Credit as well as Marketing in the financial and consulting industries.

He is currently a Senior Manager and Head of Nextzon’s Finance and Administration unit where he manages Cash Flow and Treasury, Fixed Assets, Financial Account reporting and Coordination of Budget Activities. Prior to joining Nextzon, he was Group Head Risk Management and Financial Control with Acuity Microfinance Bank Ltd and was responsible for setting up the Risk Management Department.

Before Acuity Microfinance Bank, he was a pioneer staff of Gapbridge Microfinance Bank, one of the leading Microfinance banks with the best Risk Management framework where he spent over 2 years establishing and nurturing the Risk Management Department. Uche has also worked with Ecobank and Omega Savings and Loan Limited.

Uche is a member of the following noble professional bodies: Professional Risk Manager’s International Association (PRMIA) USA, Basel II Compliance Professionals Association (BIICPA) USA, International Association of Risk and Compliance Professionals (IARCP) USA, Affiliate Member of Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) USA. He is also a Professional Member of The Institute of Credit Administration (MICA,), Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
Uche has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from Abia State University and has attended several trainings both locally and internationally with some noble institutions such as CBN, CIBN, FICT, CMD, GARP-USA and PRMIA-USA.

HEAD, RESEARCH & KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
Okechukwu Nzekwu has over 14 years’ experience in market research. He started his career with eShekels Limited, an Information Communication technology research company.

Okey as he is fondly called by colleagues, led the Nigerian team of data analysts in partnership with Intelecon research Canada to conduct one of the largest demand survey conducted in Africa, termed Universal Access survey for telecommunication in Nigeria.

He is currently the Head, Research and Knowledge management Unit at Nextzon Business Services and has managed several market research projects in various sectors such as: Non-Governmental organisations, Governments, Oil & Gas, Telecommunications, Real Estate, Financial Institutions etc. since joining the organisation. Some of the projects include:

  • Power demand profile of high volume users (500kw and above) in Nigeria for General Electric: Conducted census on the users of the specified capacity of Generators (500KW and above) as well as the development of a database for capturing the data in the 36 states and FCT (Abuja).
  • The Physical Assessment of all NIPOST properties and facilities in Nigeria (a CBN sponsored project:) Conducted physical assessment of all NIPOST physical assets in the 36 states and FCT (Abuja) using real time data capturing technique.
  • The mapping of physical resources for World Health Organisation (WHO: Mapped and undertook in-depth review of current inventory status on all WHO fixed assets in all 36 states including Federal Capital Territory and liaison offices in Lagos and the main office in Abuja.
  • Opinion Research, Testing and Evaluation for Project Care program for ExxonMobil Nigeria: Opinion Research Testing & Evaluation as part of ExxonMobil’s Project Care initiative, which sought to foster the right attitude between the Company and its stakeholders across Nigeria. This involved visiting all the locations where the company has presence and conducting focus group sessions of stakeholders.
  • Mapping of BOI and Financial Institutions’ guidelines for accessing finance/funding: conducted research on financial institutions in Nigeria to understand their guidelines for offering credits to the individuals and SMEs in Nigeria and the impediments towards accessing the credits.

Okey is a graduate of Statistics/Economics from University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). He is a member of Nigerian Market Research Association (NIMRA).

MANAGER, GOVERNMENT & NON FINANCIAL SERVICES
Victor Okere is a manager in the Government and Non Financial Services Unit of Nextzon. He currently leads the Nextzon team in Awka Anambra State.

Before joining Nextzon, he was the Database Administrator at Brickfield Road Associate where he worked with a team to develop an independent inflation index for the CBN among other enterprise solution developed and deployed.

Victor started as a senior Database Administrator, when he joined Nextzon in 2010. He was instrumental in the delivery of the new number plate system for FRSC. As part of the e-business team, he also designed and delivered the first online retail platform for the sale of third party insurance policies.

In Anambra, he leads the team that works with His Excellency, the Governor of Anambra State to develop the economic blueprint and advise his Excellency on implementation of the key elements of the blueprint. As part of the team’s mandate, they have, working with key stakeholders in the administration designed intervention strategies that have increased the State Internally Generated Revenue, carried out key organizational restructuring of some vital MDAs with the aim of increasing efficiency and working with the civil service hierarchy to introduce needed reforms for a more service oriented public service institution.

He studied Geography and Planning at the Prestigious University of Lagos, Akoka. He has attended training in Database Management, Financial Analysis and Leadership.

He is an Oracle Certified Database Professional and a Sun Java Certified Programmer.

He is married with a son.

PRACTICE MANAGER
Ms. Medupin is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ICAN and a student member of the Chartered Institute of Mgt. Accountants CIMA. As a Consultant with Nextzon Business Services Ltd, a renowned management consulting firm, Gloria manages a number of projects in Strategy and Process Design and implementation across financial and non-financial institutions alike.

Gloria started her career as an Audit Trainee (6 months) and later a Management Consulting firm where she was introduced to the business of Consulting & Advisory services. Following from here she worked in the Project Management department of a leading insurance company where she supported the execution of projects including the 25-year concessioning of a state-owned hotel and due diligence of a mortgage institution.

Her quest for higher challenges led her to take up employment with an investment bank IEI Assets; a subsidiary of IEI Group where she functioned in the Private Equity unit, Funds Management and Corporate Finance and served on some committees: Investment Policy & Credit Policy committees for the creation of an Enterprise wide Policy and Desk Manual creation policy for Private Equity Department. These assignments enabled Gloria gain versatility and broad purview in Management and Problem Solving. Between 2011 and 2014 she joined B. Adedipe Associates; a full service consulting firm where she facilitated corporate retreats and strategy sessions for corporate organisations. Projects executed during this period include financial advisory for the feasibility study and negotiation on Inland Container depot ICD Isialangwa Abia State, assessment and review of the Nigerian legal and regulatory environment for the financial services sector; – Office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the Federation OCEAP, Retreat facilitation and development of a Strategy Blueprint for LAPO Microfinance Bank, Development of Strategy blueprint for Jubilee Life Savings and Loans Limited and CDL Assets Limited (subsidiary of Consolidated Discount House Ltd) and skills audit for Union Trustees Ltd. Gloria also functioned as a Rapporteur at a number of summits including the National Economic Summit NES #17 & #18.

Gloria who is a graduate of Accounting has extended skills in Creative writing and is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA.

MANAGER, STRATEGY BUSINESS UNIT
David is a seasoned business & financial analyst and marketing strategist; with vast experience in public sector, real sector, and financial services industries.

As a Manager leading the Abia State Strategic Business Unit for Nextzon, he leads the team that provides the Governor and the State with Executive Support Services, Secretariat & Project Management Support Services and Research, Analysis & Design Support Services

He was Chief Financial Analyst of Bluebird Capital Ltd where he headed the department that successfully supervised various IPOs, as well as various levels of mergers and acquisitions. He was nominated in 2015 to the Board of Directors of Xslnce Microfinance Bank Ltd as a non-Executive Member. He has also worked in various capacities in IT, Marketing and Security Services companies.

He has a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy (First Class Honours) from University of Ibadan and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Lagos. He also has several professional certifications in Finance & Information Technology; and has attended workshops on Management, Financial Modeling, Financial Regulations and Best Practices. He is a member of CFA Society of Nigeria.

With experience in both public and private sectors (financial services & real sectors), his expertise especially lies in strategic planning & public sector administration; as well as in the packaging of financial, business and investment models for corporations and households, as advanced as it can be, but modest in presentation.
